Day 16 - Buccaneers Lodge and Backpackers Chintsa...
Free breakfast this morning! From 9 breakfast started at Buccaneers on Sunday. They had eggs, toast, jams and fruit. It was a very nice buffet. I first thought that the breakfast ended at about 10.30/11, but when some I ran into some guys at 11.30 the breakfast was still available. Which is quite nice if you went to the party last night.
At 10 I had to check out and wait until the Baz Bus...

Day 15 - Buccaneers Lodge and Backpackers Chintsa
As you can imagine, this morning was pretty tough for me. I think I got about 2 to 3 hours of sleep. I even woke up at 7, a long time before my alarm went off. Luckily I fell asleep again. At 9.30 I went for breakfast. This time I had muesli, yoghurt and fruit and coffee off course. It was really good to start the day like that.
Buccaneers has its own surf school. I went for a lesson with them at...

Day 14 - Buccaneers Lodge and Backpackers Chintsa
I’m going to try and keep this one short, because it is already quite late and I have to get up at 9 tommorow morning. This morning I had to get up even earlier though. I had to be across the bay at 8 so I could go to the Bulugha farm school. The volunteers that go here give computer lessons to all the children. Buccaneers helps with finding volunteers and with projects that this school...

Day 13 - Buccaneers Lodge and Backpackers Chintsa
This morning I woke up before my alarm again. This time I had to be at the reception at 9.15 for the horseback ride with Chintsa Horses. First I went to breakfast at about 8.30, which was again very good. I just had fruit and yoghurt, which I eat at home as well.
We left in a truck to go to the field where the horses were kept. I was with Kyle and Tanya and two friends of theirs, Laura and Sam...

Day 7 - Island Vibe Jeffreys Bay to Lungile Port...
At 7.30 this morning I went to the bar at Island Vibe Jeffreys Bay to get some breakfast. I got a very nice healthy breakfast with fruit, yoghurt and cereal (what I would call muesli). After breakfast I went with Taise to drop the volunteers off at their various projects. Island Vibe arranges for volunteers to help out at a couple of community projects. They are all schools or day-cares. One of...

Day 11 - Away with the Fairies Hogsback
The dinner last night was again very good. It was a nice thin pizza with all the toppings I wanted to have on it, what a great system. Breakfast this morning was also very good, I had eggs this time because they had no yoghurt. Away with the Fairies has dinner and breakfast very well taken care off. I think you can even have lunch here, but I have not tried it.
This morning I had arranged for a...

Day 10 - Away with the Fairies Hogsback
Dinner last night was indeed very good. It was so nice to have a lot of vegetables again. This morning I had agreed to be ready by 9 to go on a mountainbike ride. Yes, again but very different. Neels from Cycle Roots Hogsback was already here because he was making the breakfast we could order. He sometimes substitutes for employees of Away with the Fairies when they are away. I think that is very...

Day 9 - Aardvark Guesthouse Addo to Away with the...
Something I forgot to mention in the last couple of blogs is that I seem to wake up before my alarm goes. It is not like I set my alarm very late or go to bed very early, so can’t really explain it. This was the case again this morning. It was nice though, because I could take it quite slowly. I did not need to leave until 9.30. Breakfast was somewhere between 7.00 and 9.30, so I went at...

Day 8 - Lungile Lodge Port Elizabeth to The...
This morning at ten I was picked up from Lungile Lodge by Daniel, the owner of The Aardvark Guesthouse. Because I arrived the night before, I had not seen anything of Port Elizabeth. When I told Daniel that he drove me through the city to at least show me what it looks like. Then I asked him to stop at a petrol station so I could buy some breakfast. He did not stop at a petrol station but drove me...

Day 6 - Tsitsikamma Backpackers to Island Vibe...
Didn’t have to leave until 9.30 this morning. At ten the canopy tour at Tsitsikamma Canopy Tours started. First I got a tour of the company. She explained to me that they do a lot for the community. They basically took over the school, they feed and take care of the animals and they raise awareness for HIV/Aids. Furthermore they are green accredited, which I have not seen a lot in South...
